Feasibility Studies

EID is uniquely qualified to develop feasibility studies and RFPs in both governmental and commercial environments. When performing feasibility studies, EID considers all aspects of the current operation, desired approaches and the impact of industry standards and guidelines.

All too often organizations are faced with the dilemma of implementing new technologies, without the mitigation assistance of clearly identified risks and benefits. EID steps up to the task by providing a technical team following proven methodologies to ensure the client is well informed of the benefits as well as the risks of implementing new technologies.

EID typically  investigates & reviews:

  • Software Alternatives

  • Hardware Alternatives

  • Platform Options

  • Metrics Review

  • Benefits & Costs

Feasibility studies examine the organization, and how that technology can be of benefit. These studies can include Policy recommendations for imaging systems, Document management, and Workflow application requirements. Determining project feasibility is an interactive process of collecting and analyzing data with the client and searching for cost-effective, viable technical and non-technical solutions.

The study reviews the potential of successfully developing and implementing the project. Software and hardware alternatives are reviewed and used to formulate preliminary platform options. This study supports a "go" or "no go" decision about the project.

Some questions routinely investigated:

  • Can the users needs and problems be satisfied with a manual process,
automated process, or a combination of the two?

  • Is it cost-effective to develop an automated process?

  • Is the scope of the project feasible within the allocated time, resources, and hardware/software constraints and limitations?

  • Is there at least one technically feasible automated solution for the project?

EID Works with the user organization and functional area representatives to address technical issues and risks. These representatives usually become the lead effort in determining where technology will be of benefit, and where change management may be needed. EID conducts this research and investigates documents and other resources when determining project feasibility.
